Reardon Nets Seven on Senior Day, Macs Dropped Late Against Centenary

IMMACULATA, Pa. - Senior Mike Reardon netted a season-high seven goals in his final game at Draper Walsh Stadium Saturday afternoon, but the Immaculata University men's lacrosse team came up just short against visiting Centenary, 12-11, in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matchup.

Seniors Brian Shultis and Christian Fisher also found the back of the net on Senior Day, as Shultis provided a pair along with three assists for five points on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mighty Mac seniors came out ready to play Saturday, as Shultis and Fisher both netted goals in the first five minutes to give IU the early lead. Both assists on the pair of goals were credited to Reardon.
-Centenary answered right back with seven unanswered goals to take a five-goal lead with just over five minutes remaining in the half.
-The Macs fought back with three-straight goals to end the half - two from Reardon and one from Shultis - as Immaculata headed into the locker room down two.
-Reardon to run through the Cyclone defense, opening the half with an unassisted goal before Steven Long drew the Macs even with Centenary at seven with his first goal of the game.
-Centenary would regain the lead with just under ten minutes left in the third, but Reardon was back on the offensive with two consecutive goals to give the Macs their first lead since the first quarter.
-After Reardon deposited his sixth and seventh goals of the day in the back of the net at the 8:20 mark of the fourth - giving the Macs a two-goal advantage - the Cyclones were right there with two goals within 30 seconds of each other to knot the contest at 11.
-After losing the ensuing faceoff, the Macs needed a defensive stop to keep the game tied, but Chris Snow provided the go-ahead goal with 2:34 left in regulation.
-The Macs had one last opportunity on offense with a minute remaining, but came up empty as the Cyclones escaped with the victory.

TEAM COMPARISON
-Immaculata held the overall shot advantage, 39-36. The two sides ended the afternoon even in shots on goal at 21.
-The Macs forced Centenary into 17 turnovers and committed only 12 of its own.
-The Cyclones scooped up more ground balls on the day, 30-22.
-Centenary won 20 of the 27 faceoffs in the contest.
-The Macs were 1-of-3 in their man-up opportunities, while holding Centenary off the board in its lone chance.
