Macs Bounce Back in Dominant Effort at Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. - The Immaculata University men's lacrosse team got back on track Saturday afternoon with a dominant 14-4 win at Rosemont in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play. Seniors Mike Reardon and Brian Shultis combined for 11 goals and 18 points on the afternoon to lead the Macs, while goalie Tyler Freas made six saves and allowed only three goals to pick up the win in the cage.

With the win, Immaculata evens its CSAC record to 2-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Rosemont netted the game's first goal within the first five minutes, but it only set off an IU offensive barrage as the Macs went on to score four straight goals to end the first quarter. Brian Shultis got the Macs on the board first at the 8:13 mark, before Christian Fisher found the back of the net to give IU the lead. Mike Reardon then produced back-to-back tallies in the final four minutes to close out the first quarter.
-Reardon made it three-straight as he opened the second quarter with a goal to complete his hat trick at the 12:23 mark, putting the Macs up 5-1.
-Rosemont scored shortly after at the 11:48 mark, but would not find the back of the net again until the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, allowing IU to rip off an 8-0 run.
-Brian Shultis netted two more goals before the half to give the Macs a 7-2 lead heading into the break. The senior then set off a four-goal third quarter with a pair of tallies, the other two belonging to Reardon and Matt Krewson to extend the IU lead to nine with 15 minutes remaining.
-Reardon, Shultis and Steven Long all produced single tallies in the final quarter as the IU defense limited Rosemont to only two goals in the second half, resulting in a 14-4 final.
