Mighty Macs Drop Non-Conference Finale To Goucher

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Mighty Mac men's lacrosse team (3-9) dropped their final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium by a score of 19-6 to the visiting Goucher College Gophers (7-5).
 
Freshman Steven Long led the way with three goals while senior Christian Fisher scored two for the Macs.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
-IU was put into an early hole that they were unable to recover from as the Gophers ripped off the first nine goals of the game over the opening 19-plus minutes
-Trailing 9-0, the Macs got on the board on a man-up situation as Long took a feed from sophomore Ethan Johnson to make it 9-1
-Goucher finished the half with four more goals to take a 13-1 lead to the locker room
-Goucher went on to score the only four goals in the third quarter and led 17-1
-The Macs outscored the Gophers 5-2 in the final period.  Long added two more tallies while Fisher scored both of his and senior Ryan Ridolfi also scored
 
TEAM COMPARISON
-Goucher held significant advantages in shots, 58-22, and groundballs, 47-19
-The Macs won 12 faceoffs to 16 for the Gophers while IU cleared it 10-of-13 times and Goucher did so 14-of-15 times
-Goucher was very effective on the EMO going 5-for-7 and the Macs were just 1-for-6
 
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Goals: Long 3 (15), Fisher 2 (10), Ridolfi (3)
-Assists: Reardon 2 (11), Johnson (6)
-Points: Long 3, Fisher 2, Reardon 2, Ridolfi, Johnson
-Long converted all three of his shots on goal
-Freshman Bobby Bausman led the way with three caused turnovers and went 10-for-17 in the faceoff circle while picking up seven groundballs
-Senior Tyler Freas made nine saves over three quarters and freshman Justin Colon made four stops while allowing two goals in the fourth quarter
