Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Macs Win First Atlantic East Game, 3-1, Over Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va.- The Immaculata women's soccer team (4-7, 1-1) claimed their first ever Atlantic East Conference victory on Wednesday night at Draper Walsh Stadium, as they took down visiting Marymount, 3-1.

Sophomore Riley Rudd scored twice and sophomore Miranda Rojas tallied her first of the season in the conference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Marymount controlled the offensive flow early on, but the Mighty Macs took it back midway through the first half on a through ball to Rudd, who touched it past the goalie to a wide open net and converted it for a 1-0 IU lead in the 22nd minute
-Less than five minutes later, a Saints' foul in the box led to a penalty kick opportunity for Rojas, and she buried it in the left side of the net out of the outstretched arm of the keeper and 2-0 is where the game would stay going to half
-The Mighty Macs put the game out of reach in the 61st minute as senior Morgan McDonough made a great run into the corner and avoided a few defenders before threading a pass to Rudd, who hit it from the top of the box into the top left corner of the net for a 3-0 lead
-The Saints added a goal in the 88th minute, but it was too late in the Mighty Mac victory
