IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball squad went five sets on Tuesday night against Goucher in non-conference action falling to the visiting Gophers, 3-2. The Mighty Macs won the first and fourth sets (25-21 and 25-14, respectively) to push the match to the deciding fifth set, but the Gophers finished the match with a 27-25 win in the second, 25-18 in the third and 15-11 win in the fifth set.

Olivia Zdradzinski recorded her second triple-double of the season with 11 kills, 17 assists and 17 digs. Freshman
Lex Poss had a double-double with 11 assists and 12 kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mighty Macs had a promising start to the match as they pulled ahead, 8-2, on the Gophers. Goucher was able to cut the score to two points three times, the last at 15-13, and Immaculata won seven of the next nine to go ahead, 22-15. Goucher then won the next five points to make it a two-point match (22-20), but Immaculata sealed the set 25-21.
- The second set was a nail-biter all the way to the end. Immaculata got to set point at 24-23 after winning three-straight points. Goucher was able to win the next two points, but the Mighty Macs evened the set back at 25-all. The Gophers then put the set away with two kills from Sarah Weeden.
- The Mighty Macs had to play from behind the entire third set, but did eventually tie the score at 17-17. However, Goucher won eight of the final nine points for the win.
- Immaculata began the fourth set pulling in front, 7-3, forcing Goucher to call a timeout. The Gophers won the point immediately following the timeout, by the Mighty Macs ran off the next nine points to lead 16-4. Immaculata got to set point at 24-10, but Goucher had a slight comeback with four points before the set ended.
- The two teams traded leads and were tied in the early going of the fifth set. Immaculata was ahead, 5-4, when Goucher won four straight for an 8-5 lead, which it never gave up. The Mighty macs pulled within two (13-11) at the end, but the Gophers put down two kills for the match win.

- Kills: Zdradzinski lead the way with 11 kills.
Arden Vizzard had nine, while
Gabrielle Guerrera and
Shelby Belk each added eight.
- Assists: Zdradzinski had a team-high 17 assists. Poss handed out 11, and
Sara Desmond had eight.
- Service Aces: Poss and Vizzard each served up four aces against Goucher.
- Digs: IU had four players in double figures in digs led by Vizzard's 19 digs. Zdradzinski made 17, Desmond had 16, and Poss with 12.
