BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Immaculata University's volleyball squad opened the 2017 season with a 3-0 sweep on the road at Bryn Mawr in non-conference action. The Mighty Macs took the match by set scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-17.

Olivia Zdradzinski led the way with seven kills apiece. Freshman

Sara Desmond paced the Mighty Macs with 13 digs.

How it Happened
· A 9-1 start to the match led the Mighty Macs to the win in the first set.
Shelby Belk served seven points during the run, including all four of her service aces. After Bryn Mawr made it 18-11, Immaculata closed the set with the final seven points.
· Immaculata led 13-9 in the second set, but pulled away with a four-point run for a 17-9 lead. After Bryn Mawr made it 18-12, Immaculata again closed out the set on a seven-point spurt.
· The third set was close in the beginning as the Mighty Macs had a close advantage, 11-7. However, the Mighty Macs outscored them, 5-1, for a 16-8 advantage. Bryn Mawr got within five points (21-16) of Immaculata, but the Mighty Macs closed the sweep with a kill from Zdradzinski, ace by Poss, and two Bryn Mawr errors. Â

· Kills:
Arden Vizzard and
Olivia Zdradzinski led the way with seven kills apiece.
Rachael Rockefeller had four, and
Nicole Taylor finished with three.
· Assists:
Lex Poss handed out a team-high 14 assists, and Zdradzinski added eight.
· Digs:
Sara Desmond recorded a leading 13 digs, and Vizzard was also in double-digits with 11. Zdradzinski was at seven, and
Madi Curley made six.
· Aces:
Shelby Belk led with four aces, and Vizzard served up three.

"Tonight was a great team effort, and it took all 15 players to get us the win," said head coach
Jill Holdren. "Serving was very strong, and we used that to our advantage."
