Mighty Macs Edged By Clarks Summit, 5-4

BOX SCORE

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.-
The Mighty Mac men's tennis team looked to continue their strong season on Friday afternoon with a road Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match at Clarks Summit (5-3, 4-1 CSAC), but the Defenders topped the Mighty Macs (4-4, 3-2 CSAC) by a slim count of 5-4.  IU is still in good position to reach the CSAC postseason for the first time since 2013 with matches against Neumann and Rosemont next week.

Senior Luke Santoni and freshman Ryan McDowell took the only point at doubles for the Macs on the day in the third spot, 8-3.

McDowell and Santoni each had two wins on the day as they took care of business at singles.  McDowell won 6-1, 6-3 at fourth singles and Santoni had a tough match at the sixth spot, but came out on top, 7-5, 6-3.

Senior John Binner won 6-1, 6-4 at fifth singles, but the Macs were unable to pick up another point in the tight defeat.

The Macs will host Rosemont on Monday in a CSAC match.
