BALTIMORE, Md.- The Mighty Mac field hockey team (3-9, 1-0 CSAC) opened Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Wednesday afternoon at Notre Dame with a dominating 9-0 victory.

Hilary Burkholder each had a hat trick while senior
Megan Donegan had two goals and freshman
Shannon Lozier added one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The game was scoreless early despite some chances by the Macs, but Burkholder got IU on the board in the 13
th minute to make it 1-0
-In the 23
rd minute, Lozier fed a pass to left side for Burkholder and she converted it into her second goal of the game for a 2-0 lead
-Donegan got into the mix after Thompson gave her a high pass that she knocked out of the air into the goal, and Thompson then scored herself in the 31
st minute to make it 4-0 at the half
-The Macs opened the second half with a goal less than three minutes in by Donegan, and Burkholder capped off the hat trick after sophomore
Colleen Bradley passed it to her from the left side and she finished it off for a 6-0 lead
-In the 51
st minute, Thompson dribbled down the field and she hit a shot from the right that found the back of the net, and Thompson earned the hat trick just three minutes later with her third goal of the day
-Lozer finished off the scoring on a shot from the middle that passed the goalie to the left for the 9-0 victory

-The Macs outshot the Gators, 32-2 and had a 22-1 advantage on corners
