IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team (6-12) dropped their Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) finale to Gwynedd Mercy (14-3, 7-0 CSAC) under the lights at Draper Walsh Stadium on Tuesday night, 7-1. The Macs are still in good position at 4-3 in the CSAC and will await their postseason fate after the remainder of the conference games are played on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The first place Griffins got on the board early as they scored in the sixth minute on the 30
th goal of the season by Melissa Russo, who leads the NCAA in goals
-The Mac defense then held, and they also had a chance to tie it on a breakaway by freshman
Willa Thompson, but her attempt went just wide
-The Griffins added goals in the 24
th and 35
th minutes to take a 3-0 lead to the locker room
-The Macs got on the board in the second half as sophomore
Colleen Bradley hit a pass to Donegan who hit an impressive shot from just inside the circle that beat the keeper to cut into the lead
-However, the Griffins added goals quickly in the 46
th and 49
th minutes to make it 5-1
-Gwynedd put the game away with a goal in the 55
th minute and a goal at the buzzer to get to the final
