IU Falls On The Road At Cabrini, 3-1

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team (5-11, 3-2 CSAC) dropped their second consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest on Wednesday night as they fell 3-1 to Cabrini (6-7, 4-1 CSAC) on the road.
 
Freshman Brittany Richards scored her third goal of the year in defeat.
 
The Macs will clinch a postseason spot with a win in one of their final two contests this season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs played tight early with the Cavaliers, but a seven-minute stretch midway through the first half turned out being the difference
-The Cavaliers scored in the 16th, 19th, and 23rd minutes to take a 3-0 lead that they took into halftime
-In the second half, the Macs generated several chances as they outshot the Cavaliers, 9-5, after halftime
-The Macs finally broke through in the 54th minute as senior Megan Donegan fed a pass to Richards all by herself on the post and she converted it to get it to 3-1

-The Macs were outshot by the Cavaliers, 17-10, but had nine shots on goal to just eight for Cabrini
-Cabrini had an 11-4 advantage in penalty corners
