IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team got their 2016 campaign and Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) schedule off to a strong start with a 9-0 victory over Keystone (0-1, 0-1 CSAC) on opening day at the IU Tennis Courts.

The Macs (1-0, 1-0 CSAC) dropped just six games on their way to the CSAC victory.

In doubles, the familiar pairing of senior
Lauren Degnan and junior
Kelly Gross got back to their winning ways with an 8-0 victory in first doubles, and senior
Annaliese Kambouroglos and sophomore
Caitlin Savage cruised 8-1 at the second doubles position. The Macs made it a clean sweep with a forfeit victory in the third spot by junior
Susan Callahan and sophomore
Claire Stimson.

In singles, Degnan and Gross each made it two-win days at the first and second singles positions with 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2 victories, respectively.

Kambouroglos made it a clean sweep as well with a 6-1, 6-0 win at number three while Callahan got the first victory of her collegiate career with a 6-1, 6-0 win at number four.Â

Savage won with a straight sets sweep in the fifth spot and freshman
Timesha Smith picked up a forfeit victory in her first collegiate match.

The Mighty Macs will have a week off before taking on Delaware Valley in non-conference action.
