Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team opened up Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Saturday afternoon against Keystone (2-4, 1-0 CSAC) at Draper Walsh Stadium, and the Mighty Macs (0-9, 0-1 CSAC) fell to the Giants, 3-0.
Keystone came out firing as they got goal a goal in the sixth minute from Genesis Pacheco, and another from Rebecca Dempster in the ninth minute to take an early 2-0 advantage.
The Macs countered on the attack as junior
Brittany Robertson and sophomore
Cayla Williams each had chances, but they were denied by the keeper. Dempster would add another goal late in the half for the Giants as the Macs trailed 3-0 heading into the locker room.
In the second half, the Mighty Macs kept up the offensive pressure, but were unable to break through in the 3-0 CSAC defeat. As a team, the Macs had 18 shots and 10 corners to equal the Giants. Senior
Patsy Murphy and Williams led the team with five shots each.
Junior
Sarah Pasternak entered in relief of Christine McIntrye after the second Keystone goal, and allowed one herself while making 10 saves.
The Mighty Macs go back out of conference play on Tuesday night as they host Wilkes at 4 p.m.
