Field Hockey Defeated 4-0 At Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team travelled to Cabrini (9-7, 5-1 CSAC) on Saturday afternoon for the first of three road games to close out the regular season, and the Macs fell to the Cavaliers, 4-0.
 
With the loss, the Mighty Macs (0-16, 0-5 CSAC) were eliminated from Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason contention, their first missed playoffs since 2012.
 
Junior goalie Sarah Pasternak got the start in the cage and made 13 saves for IU, while junior Christine McIntyre made her first appearance in a month returning from an injury and made four saves.
 
The Cavaliers took the lead in the sixth minute on a goal to grab the early advantage, and the score would hold at 1-0 until the 24th minute when the Cavaliers would add another.  Cabrini would take a 3-0 lead into the break after another tally in the 26th minute.
 
McIntyre entered after half and gave up one in the 56th minute to get to the final of 4-0.
 
The Macs will head to Cedar Crest on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game with the Falcons.
