Women's Soccer Draws With Centenary, 1-1

Box Score

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.- The Immaculata University women's soccer team went on the road and played a tight game at Centenary (4-7-2, 3-2-2 CSAC) on Tuesday afternoon and they came away with a 1-1 draw.  The Macs (3-8-2) now sit at 3-3-1 in conference play and are in a tie with Rosemont for the sixth and final postseason position.

Junior Rachel Lamb scored the lone goal for the Macs, her second of the season, to even the game in the first half and the score would hold there the rest of the game.

The game was very even between the two teams as Centenary had 19 shots to Immaculata's 18, but the Macs had 10 corners while the Cyclones had five.  Junior Erica Buckley had five shots to lead the team.

Senior Elizabeth McBride continued her strong season with nine saves on the night.

Centenary scored the first goal of the game, just under two minutes into the game on a goal from Emily Pizzuto who ripped a shot from just inside the 18 to put the Cyclones up 1-0.

The Macs would respond in the 19th minute on a goal from Lamb who got away from the defense and scored on a breakaway.

The game would remain tied the rest of the way, but the Mighty Macs had great chances in double overtime with five of their 10 corners of the game.  However, the game would stay tied and each team earned a point.

The Mighty Macs will return home on Saturday afternoon to host Gwynedd Mercy at 1 p.m.
