Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team evened their Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) record at 3-3 on Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 victory over Cedar Crest (3-7-2, 0-6 CSAC).
The Mighty Macs (3-8-1) had great performances by freshman
Morgan McDonough who scored the first two goals of her career, junior
Carly Mirarchi who had two goals, and junior
Erica Buckley with one goal as well.
IU had 22 shots on the day, and senior
Elizabeth McBride got the win in the cage with one shutout half of work and one save. Sophomore
Allie Tracey had three saves in a shutout second half.
Mirarchi got the scoring going for the Mighty Macs with a goal in the 29
th minute. She made a move past a defender at the top of the eighteen and put the ball in the right corner to go up 1-0. Just 92 seconds later, she got another tally on a breakaway to go up 2-0.
McDonough sent the Macs to the locker room with a 3-0 lead as she sent a ball into the box and it deflected around into the cage for the three-goal advantage.
In the 56
th minute, McDonough had the second goal of her college career to extend the advantage to 4-0.
Buckley iced the game away in the 82
nd minute on an assist from senior
Kaitlyn Taylor.
On Tuesday, the Mighty Macs will travel to Centenary at 4 p.m.
