IMMACULATA, Pa.-The Immaculata women's tennis team extended their Colonial States Athletic Conference record to 4-1 this afternoon with a 9-0 defeat of visiting Keystone (1-6, 1-3 CSAC). The Mighty Macs (7-2, 4-1 CSAC) got their third clean sweep of a CSAC opponent this season.
Immaculata extended their CSAC team doubles record to 13-2 with three victories today. Sophomore
Lauren Degnan and senior
Paige Sparks rallied from a 4-0 deficit to come back and win 8-6. Sophomore
Nicole Burley and junior
Kara Trowbridge won 8-3 in the second slot, and sophomore
Annaliese Kambouroglos and senior
Pattie McGinley stayed unbeaten as a tandem in 2014 with an 8-2 victory.
The Mighty Macs then swept all six singles improving to 26-4 as a squad in the singles competition against CSAC opponents. They didn't drop a set along the way and lost just 15 games total.
Degnan won 6-1, 6-2 in first singles, and junior
Emily Degnan in second singles and Burley in third singles each won 6-2, 6-1.
Trowbridge and Kambouroglos each won 6-0, 6-1 in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Lastly, sophomore
Jenna Fratterelli won in the sixth spot 6-0, 6-4.
IU will stay in CSAC play as they travel to Cedar Crest on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. looking to improve their conference mark.
