Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa.- For the second straight home game, the Mighty Macs (3-5) were strong offensively and held on for a 4-3 victory over Bryn Mawr in non-conference action. Junior
Patsy Murphy had two goals, while senior
Tiffany Lockfeld had three points on one goal and one assist.
Bryn Mawr opened the scoring up midway through the first half in the 21
st minute when Holly Constants took a shot from the right wing that deflected off a defender and barely crossed the line to make it 1-0.
IU didn't let the deficit last long as senior Ashley O'Donnell was taken down in the box allowing Lockfeld to take a penalty stroke, which she converted into the lower right corner of the net to tie the game 1-1 just two minutes later.
In the 33
rd minute, Murphy scored her first of two goals on the day off a perfect centering pass from senior
Lindsay Cras, which she slid past the keeper for a 2-1 lead.
The Mighty Macs took the 2-1 lead into the second half, and had two quick goals to put the game away on nearly identical plays.
In the 42
nd minute, sophomore
Brittany Robertson took a centering pass from the right wing off the stick of Lockfeld and shot the ball past the Bryn Mawr keeper for a 3-1 lead.
Just 75 seconds later, it was Murphy's turn to take a centering pass from the right wing from O'Donnell, and Murphy turned it into her second goal of the game, third of the season, and a 4-1 Immaculata lead.
The Owls would add goals in the 65
th and 68
th minutes to make it interesting at the end, but IU held on for the 4-3 victory.
Immaculata looks to make it three straight at home when they host Stevenson at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night at Draper Walsh Stadium.
