Women's Soccer Drops Road Contest At Wesley, 3-0

Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Looking to snap their four-game losing skid to start the season, the Immaculata women's soccer team (0-5) travelled to Wesley (4-1) on Saturday night, but after falling behind early, they were unable to make up ground in a 3-0 defeat.

Senior Meghan McCurnin was back in goal for the Mighty Macs and she made five stops for IU.

Freshman Rachel Fanrak and junior Kimesha Speller each had two shots to pace Immaculata, who were outshot 16-4.

Wesley got on the board in the 14th minute on a shot that just beat a diving McCurnin.  IU hung in and kept the home team off the scoreboard for the rest of half as the Mighty Macs trailed 1-0 at the break.

However, Wesley would add two second half tallies to put the game out of reach.

Immaculata hopes to get in the win column on Tuesday when they host Swarthmore at 6 p.m.
