Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa.-Senior
Ashley O'Donnell continued her record-breaking senior season with two more goals on Wednesday afternoon to lift Immaculata (5-8) to a 2-1 victory over visiting Albright (1-12) at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Â
O'Donnell netted her 14
th and 15
th goals of the season to provide the offense for IU as they snapped a two-game losing skid. Fellow senior
Tiffany Lockfeld provided the helper on the first one, her fourth of the season to lead the team.
Â
Sophomore goalie
Sarah Pasternak (4-7) made 12 saves in net and was stout throughout the game.
Â
O'Donnell got the scoring started in the 26
th minute after the teams played to a draw early on. Lockfeld collected a loose ball on a corner play and centered it to O'Donnell who found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Â
The Lions would respond just before half with the equalizer to send the teams to the locker room knotted at 1-1.
Â
In the second half, both teams had great chances to score the go-ahead goal. Albright had seven shots on goal, but Pasternak came up with a save each time, while the Mighty Macs had seven shots of their own, including a shot off the crossbar by senior
Lindsay Cras.
Â
O'Donnell eventually netted the game-winner with 5:35 remaining in the game when she carried the ball in from just inside midfield and ripped a shot that beat the keeper for the game-winner.
Â
IU would do a great job killing the clock at the end of the game to take the 2-1 non-conference victory.
Â
The Mighty Macs will go back into CSAC play on Saturday with a 1 p.m. road trip to Keystone.
