Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata senior class played their last game at Draper Walsh Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, and they ended their home careers with a big 10-0 victory over Notre Dame (3-10, 1-6 CSAC). Senior
Ashley O'Donnell made it a particularly special day as she became the first Mighty Mac ever to reach the 100-point plateau.
O'Donnell,
Lindsay Cras,
Tiffany Lockfeld,
Danielle Lopez, and
Lynda Sheets were all honored prior to their final game on their home turf, and then the Mighty Macs (7-12, 3-4 CSAC) never turned back in the runaway victory.
O'Donnell had two goals and two assists to give her 41 goals and 18 assists for her career. She holds the school record for points (100), goals (41), and is tied for most assists (18) in a career and has the single season points record this season with 40, and also the most goals with 17.
Cras also netted two goals in her final home game, along with an assist which gives her five goals in the final three weeks of the season. Sheets put home the first goal of her career, while freshman
Brooke Robinson also had a multi-goal game with two.
Junior
Patsy Murphy had one goal and one assist, while freshmen
Rachel Haines and
Megan Donegan each added one goal apiece.
Sophomores
Christine McIntyre,
Emily Beavers,
Gina Rucci, and
Sarah Pasternak all combined for a shutout.
The Mighty Macs raced out with four goals in the first 7:24 to put the game away early. Robinson scored her first just 22 seconds in before Cras, Robinson again, and Murphy all scored.
IU would add goals from Haines, O'Donnell and Cras to take a commanding 7-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, Sheets and Donegan scored before O'Donnell put the cap on the game with her 17
th goal of the season which gave her 100 career points in her accomplished career.
The Mighty Macs will now have to wait and see if they have a chance at the postseason tomorrow afternoon. If Keystone beats Marywood, and Keystone scores at least two goals, the Mighty Macs will advance to the Colonial States Athletic Conference postseason for the second consecutive year. That game will be played at 4 p.m.
