Immaculata Falls 3-0 At Marywood

Box Score

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team travelled to Marywood on Tuesday afternoon looking for their second consecutive win, but the host Pacers (5-9-1, 5-2-1 CSAC) topped the Mighty Macs (2-11-1, 2-5-1, CSAC) by a score of 3-0.

The Mighty Macs will now need to win their final three games of the season to keep their CSAC playoff hopes alive after making it into the tournament a season ago.

The Pacers outshot the Mighty Macs 16-5 and held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Freshman Nicole Catania registered the lone shot on goal for IU.

Senior Meghan McCurnin got the start in goal and played the first half, making four saves.  The Pacers scored two goals against her with a goal in the sixth minute, and then they added to it with just 48 seconds remaining in the first half.

Junior Elizabeth McBride played the second half and made two saves before surrendering a goal in the 83rd minute.

Immaculata will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Cedar Crest at 3 p.m. in their final home game of the season.  They will honor their seniors Lucy Hud, Sam Bonvetti, Meghan McCurnin, Zabrina Gallagher, and Rebecca Oulton before the start of the game.
