Women's Tennis Tops Keystone 7-2 To Open 2013

LA PLUME, Pa.-
The Immaculata women's tennis team got off to a fast start for the 2013 season as they took their Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener over Keystone by a count of 7-2.  Freshman Annaliese Kambouroglos, senior Theresa Martini, and sophomore Kara Trowbridge each picked up two victories on the afternoon to pace the Mighty Macs (1-0, 1-0 CSAC) in the win over the Giants (0-1, 0-1 CSAC).
 
Immaculata started with wins in two of the three doubles matches.  Trowbridge and Martini won easily in the number two spot by an 8-0 score while Kambouroglos and junior Pattie McGinley won 8-2 in the third position.
 
The Mighty Macs continued their strong play in singles as they won five of six matches to claim the important conference and season opener.
 
In the second spot, freshman Nicole Burley claimed her first collegiate victory with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph.  Kambouroglos also picked up her first collegiate singles win by a 6-3, 6-1 score in the fourth spot and freshman Jenna Fratterelli became the third Mighty Mac to pick up her first win at Immaculata with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the sixth position.
 
Trowbridge came back from her Honorable Mention All-CSAC campaign by starting 2013 with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the third spot.  Martini cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win in the fifth spot to get Immaculata their seventh point of the day.
 
The Mighty Macs will take a break from conference play when they host Rutgers-Camden for their home opener on Wednesday, September 4th at 4 p.m.
