LANGHORNE, Pa.- For the second time this week, the Immaculata women's soccer team (3-6-2, 2-0-2 CSAC) earned a tie on the road to remain unbeaten in league play as they played to a 2-2 draw at Cairn (3-6-2, 1-3-2 CSAC) on Saturday afternoon. Junior
Rachel Gannon equaled her goal total from last year with her seventh of the season and freshman
Carly Mirarchi scored the first goal of her career.
Mirarchi scored her first goal of the season after making a run down the left side and moved toward the middle of the field and hit a shot that eluded the keeper for a 2-1 lead in the 36
th minute.
The Mighty Macs appeared to be in control early in the second half until the Highlanders scored on a through ball that Kathleen Meacham netted for her second goal of the season to tie the game up at 2-2 which is where it would stay the rest of the game.
Immaculata appeared to have the game-winner late in the second overtime, but an offsides call negated the would-be game-winner as both teams earned one point.
Gannon put the Mighty Macs on the board in the 10
th minute when she collected a rebound off the post and scored for the 1-0 lead. Cairn answered in the 24
th minute on Meacham's first goal of the day that beat junior
Meghan McCurnin (four saves).
Immaculata will look to preserve their unbeaten CSAC record on Tuesday with a road game at Cedar Crest at 4 p.m.
