Women's Soccer Earns 1-1 Tie At Neumann

Box Score

ASTON, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team put their unbeaten CSAC record on the line in a road game at Neumann (2-7-1, 1-2-1 CSAC) on Wednesday night and came away with a hard-earned 1-1 tie.  Junior Rachel Gannon scored a goal in the final ten minutes of the game to send the game to overtime where the Mighty Macs (3-6-1, 2-0-1 CSAC) held on for the tie.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the waning moments of the game, Gannon scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 84th minute to even the score at 1-1 on Immaculata's second shot on goal in the game to that point.  It turned out to be critical as both teams would go scoreless in the final moments of regulation and the 20 minutes of overtime.

Neumann got on the board in the 51st minute on Jordyn Agresta's goal that got past junior goalkeeper Meghan McCurnin.

McCurnin finished with six saves total including one in overtime to preserve the 1-1 tie.

The Mighty Macs will look to preserve the unbeaten start to their CSAC season with a road contest at Cairn at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

NOTES: Gannon now stands alone in 7th place on the Immaculata goal-scoring list with 13 for her career … She is one short of last year's total of seven.
