Women's Soccer Streak Snapped At Cabrini, 2-0

Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team saw a streak of six consecutive games of picking up points to start the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) schedule end on Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 loss at Cabrini (7-3-4, 5-1-2 CSAC).  The Mighty Macs (5-7-2, 4-1-2 CSAC) had been unbeaten in CSAC play to this point, but today's setback ended a program-best start.

The Cavaliers picked up a goal in the first half by Melissa Scanzano in the 13th minute that got by junior goalie Meghan McCurnin, but the Mighty Macs held for the rest of the first half and trailed by just one goal going to the locker room.

In the second half, Cabrini got a critical insurance goal in the 59th minute to make it 2-0, and the Mighty Macs were unable to climb out of the hole.

McCurnin made 10 saves, and freshman Rachel Lamb and junior Rachel Gannon each registered shots for Immaculata.

The Mighty Macs will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they host Keystone in a pivotal CSAC match.
