Women's Soccer Shuts Out Cedar Crest

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University women's soccer lifted the lid on the Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium by shutting out Cedar Crest, 4-0.
 
The Mighty Macs used a balanced scoring attack as four different players all tallied goals. Adriana Sciascia put the Mighty Macs on the board 9:48 into the match as she scored off an assist from Janet Carney. Rachel Gannon scored her third marker of the season in the 17th minute unassisted, and five minutes later Bridget Cunningham found the back of the net, also unassisted, to stake Immaculata to a 3-0 lead by the 22nd minute.
 
Immaculata would lead 3-0 at the intermission, but it wasn't finished scoring. Less than five minutes into the second half, Carney added the Mighty Macs' final goal of the afternoon on a feed from Amanda Markie.
 
Immaculata goalkeeper Meghan McCurnin earned the win by making two saves. Cedar Crest keeper Daniella Mendez recorded five stops.
 
Immaculata had a 17-2 advantage in shots and edged Cedar Crest, 8-1, in corner kicks.
 
Immaculata is now 1-6 overall and 1-0 in the CSAC. Cedar Crest slipped to 4-5, 1-1 CSAC.
 
Immaculata travels to Notre Dame of Maryland University on Tuesday, Sept. 25, for a 4 p.m. conference game with the Gators.
