IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University's field hockey squad hosted No. 9 Franklin & Marshall College on Wednesday under the lights at Draper Walsh Stadium, falling to the Diplomats in a non-conference contest by a score of 6-2.

The Mighty Macs did not allow the Diplomats to capitalize on any offensive opportunities during the first 10 minutes of the game as Immaculata goalkeeper Patsy Murphy made four saves.

Franklin & Marshall finally broke through the Immaculata defense 10:19 into the contest as Dana Venditti scored on a rebound shot. The Diplomats would go on to score four more times before the break, and they led 5-0 at halftime.

The Diplomats scored their final goal of the game just 1:08 into the second half. Midway through the second stanza, the Mighty Macs began to break through the Diplomats midfield and gain their own offensive chances.

Immaculata had its first penalty corner of the game at the 54:04 mark and it sparked the Mighty Macs' first goal. Lindsay Cras took the initial shot on the corner, which was saved by the Franklin & Marshall goalkeeper. However, Bridget McMenamin was able to secure the possession for Immaculata and get the ball to Tiffany Lockfeld, who pushed the ball into the cage.

Just over one minute later, Immaculata was awarded a penalty stroke which Ashley O'Donnell rattled home for the Mighty Macs' second goal.

Murphy finished the game making 11 stops for the Mighty Macs. Franklin & Marshall goalkeeper Allie Morey registered one save.
