Men's Tennis Downs Misericordia, 6-3

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University's men's tennis squad picked up its second straight win when it defeated Misericordia, 6-3, on Tuesday afternoon in a non-league match.
 
 The Cougars had a 2-1 lead in the match after doubles play, but the Mighty Macs were able to come back and win five of the six singles matches to clinch the victory.
 
Eric Schmidt and T.J. Klinger both won their singles matches in a tie-breaker. Schmidt, playing No. 2 singles, defeated Sal Saraniti, 6-4, 6-7 (1-7), 10-8. Klinger, at third singles, defeated Matt Erney, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, earning the Mighty Macs their fifth point of the match.
 
Joe Walker and Todd Stokley each made quick work of their opponents at fourth and fifth singles, respectively, sweeping 6-0, 6-0.
 
Immaculata also took sixth singles and third doubles by default.
 
Immaculata will be back on the courts on Wednesday, April 11, hosting Arcadia at 3:30 p.m.
