IMMACULATA, Pa.-The Mighty Macs scored four goals in just under three minutes to start the second half to blow the CSAC conference game against Notre Dame wide open en route to a 5-0 victory. Five different Mighty Macs scored to improve Immaculata's record to 1-9 overall and 1-2 in the CSAC.
Immaculata controlled the entire first half posting 22 shots, but they were only able to break through once in the 6th minute when
Bridget McMenamin knocked home a loose ball off a penalty corner for the 1-0 lead. It was McMenamin's first goal of the season and third point.
After halftime, the Mighty Macs came out on fire offensively as four different players tallied goals starting with
Mary Beth Plastek in the 38th minute. Plastek took a deflected pass at the right corner of the goal and lifted it over Gator goalkeeper Emily Langton for the 2-0 advantage.
Just 57 seconds later,
Tiffany Lockfeld buried her second goal of the season off a perfect tip pass from
Natalie Rivera (second assist on the season) to make it 3-0 Immaculata.
The scoring didn't stop there as
Lindsay Cras scored from the top of the circle off a penalty corner feed from Ashley O'Donnell in the 41st minute and O'Donnell provided the feed again just 36 seconds later on a
Danielle Lopez goal to bring the final to 5-0.
Overall, the Mighty Macs tallied 19 shots on goal, while allowing just one as the Mighty Macs cruised to their first win of the season.
NOTES: With her two assists today, O'Donnell now leads the team in goals (5), assists (3), and points (13).
