Field Hockey Falls to Fairleigh Dickinson

The Immaculata University field hockey team dropped a non-conference contest to Fairleigh Dickinson 5-0-, in the Black Eyed Susan Tournament held at Stevenson University on Saturday morning.

FDU jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 24 seconds into the game and minutes later expanded their lead 2-0 with an unassisted goal from Megan Springmeyer. The Mighty Macs halted the Devil's attack as the score remained 2-0 heading into half time.

At the 49:56 mark in the second half,  Kelsey Kistle found the back of cage before Springmeyer added her second goal of the game to increase the lead 4-0. The Devils rounded out the scoring by adding another goal with 0:55 seconds remaining.

The Devils controlled much of the play on the day, out-shooting the Mighty Macs by a 10-4 margin. Katie Becker tallied two shots while Ashley O'Donnell and Natalie Rivera totaled one shot each for Immaculata.  Freshman goalie Natalie Slezak tallied three saves on the day.

The Mighty Macs return to action on Sunday, September 4 in the Black Eyed Susan Tournament against Stevenson University at 4 p.m.
