Immaculata Women’s Soccer Outlasts Cedar Crest, 3-2

ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team battled to a 3-2 victory versus Cedar Crest in its final Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest of the regular season on Saturday afternoon.

Senior midfielder Jen Steinke handed the Mighty Macs a 1-0 lead when she converted on a corner from Zena Tracey six minutes into the contest and clung to that one-goal at intermission.

Cedar Crest opened the second half strong knotting the game, 1-1, on a goal from Samantha Huey.  At the 51:53 mark, Zena Tracey's corner kick was tapped in by a Falcon, putting the Mighty Macs ahead 2-1.

The Falcons responded with an unassisted tally in the 65th minute to tie the game again however the Mighty Macs put the game out of reach in the 68th minute when Amanda Markie found the back of the net from Chelsey Murta.

The Immaculata offense boasted 36 total shots to the Falcons 11 shots. Kim Steinke and Zena Tracey totaled nine shots each for the Mighty Macs.

Immaculata goalkeeper Zabrina Gallagher totaled four saves in her first win between the pipes. Cedar Crest goalkeeper notched 21 saves in the loss.

Immaculata will host DeSales University on Tuesday, Oct. 25 for its home finale at Draper Walsh Stadium. The 7 p.m. contest will also include Senior Day.
