Goucher College Tops Immaculata Field Hockey, 2-0

Box Score

BALTIMORE, Md. – Ali Metzgar scored a goal and posted an assist to lead host Goucher College to a 2-0 blanking of visiting Immaculata University in a non-league field hockey match.

Immaculata (2-7) saw its modest two-game win streak come to a close while Goucher improved to 3-6 overall on the year.

Goucher's Eden Fitzkee opened the scoring four minutes into the contest off a feed from Metzgar that gave the hosts a 1-0 advantage. Later in the first half, Metzgar doubled the hosts lead with a tally in the 22nd minute. That was all the hosts would need as they held off the Mighty Macs in the second half.

Britt Worthington made three saves on the evening for Immaculata while her counterpart, Micki Manheimer, stopped four shots by the Mighty Macs. Immaculata's Kelly Kugler took three shots to lead the team in that category.

Goucher outshot Immaculata, 11-7, and held a 7-5 edge in penalty corners.

Saturday, Immaculata hosts Wilson College at 10 a.m. at Draper-Walsh Stadium in part of a triple-header with the women's and men's soccer teams, which will follow.
