GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Gwynedd-Mercy College used a quick start to defeat Immaculata University, 5-0, in the Colonial States Athletic Conference opener for both programs on Saturday afternoon.

The Griffins (3-3, 1-0 CSAC) scored three goals during the game's first 10 minutes. Nicolle Tourdot opened the scoring for Gwynedd-Mercy with a goal just 4:38 into the game. Christine Hammitt then scored the second and third tallies in the eighth and 10th minute.

Sarah Jackson scored twice for the Griffins in the second half to cap the scoring.

Immaculata (0-6, 0-1 CSAC) goalkeeper Britt Worthington made 13 saves. Gwynedd-Mercy keeper Kaylin Bassett registered six stops.

Immaculata is back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Cabrini at Draper Walsh Stadium at 4 p.m.
