Field Hockey Drops Contest To Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa.
- The Immaculata University field hockey team scored twice but it was not enough as the host Greyhounds of Moravian claimed a 6-2 win over the Mighty Macs in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.

Becky Renaldo got the scoring started for Moravian in the 13th minute, but the Mighty Macs scored the equalizer five minutes later. Katie Becker tallied her first goal of the season at the 17:40 mark of the game to even the score at 1-all.

However, Moravian will head into the intermission scoring three goals in an eight minute span to hold a 4-1 advantage at the break.

Moravian scored twice more in the second half before Immaculata could answer. Kathleen Garrity rattled the back of the cage with less than five minutes to play as Lauren Becklley assisted on the goal.

Immaculata started Jess Jones in goal, and she played the first half making six saves. Britt Worthington replaced Jones during the second half, recording one stop. Catherine Gottlieb completed the contest for Moravian registering five saves.

Moravian upped its record to 2-1 while Immaculata now dips to 0-4.

Immaculata will be at Scranton on Thursday night, Sept. 17, for a 7 p.m. start.
