RADNOR, Pa. - Immaculata University's men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Saturday afternoon as it swept Cabrini College, 9-0.
The Mighty Macs set the pace early as they claimed all three doubles points.
Nick Tarlecki and
Dave Harlan were 8-5 winners at the top spot against Walter Jesuncosky and Jake Neary.
Demetrios Vlahos and
Eric Schmidt defeated Justin Lutteroty and Joseph Stafford, 8-6, at the second position, and Mike Pancoast and
Mike Tyrell claimed an 8-1 win at the third spot over Andrew Golden and Shane McKeon.
In singles play, Harlan defeated Lutteroty at the second position, 6-3, 6-0. Vlahos won his match at three, 6-3, 6-2, against Neary, and Schmidt took down McKeon, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4. Tyrell won his match at six against Stafford in 6-0 straight sets.
Both Tarlecki and Pancoast won their singles matches in a tie-breaker after losing the first set 6-4. Tarlecki won his match against Jesuncosky at first singles coming back with 7-5, 10-9, and Pancoast, in the fifth spot, won 6-4, 10-4 against Golden.
Today marked the final match for Immaculata's four seniors, Tarlecki, Harlan, Pancoast and Tyrell.
The Mighty Macs finish the season 3-11 overall and 2-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Cabrini falls to 1-10 overall, 1-6 CSAC.
