Field Hockey Picks Up Win At Albright, 3-0

READING, Pa. - Immaculata's field hockey squad picked up its first win of the season at Albright Saturday afternoon, 3-0, as freshman Katherine Becker scored one goal and assisted on another for the Mighty Macs.

Lauren Bigos broke the 0-0 halftime score just over seven minutes into the second half as she was set up by Becker and Kathleen Garrity. Emily Hallett then converted the penalty stroke awarded to Immaculata in the 64th minute, giving the Mighty Macs a 2-0 lead with 6:17 remaining in the contest.

Just before the final whistle, Becker pushed one past the Lions goalkeeper from a feed from Garrity on a rebound to make the final margin 3-0.

Immaculata goalkeeper Britt Worthington earned the win making six saves during the contest. The Lions' Kaitlyn Johnstone stopped nine shots while taking the loss.

The Mighty Macs even their record at 1-1 while the Lions dip to 1-2 for the season.

Immaculata held the advantage in both shots (15-7) and penalty corners (4-3) over Albright.

Immaculata opens its home slate on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 4 p.m. taking on Moravian.
