HAVERFORD, Pa. – Immaculata's women's soccer team was unable to hand Haverford its first loss of the season, as the host Fords came away with the 2-0 victory over the visiting Mighty Macs Saturday afternoon.
A goal from Erin Dowling in the 13th minute of the first half put the Fords (4-0-2) ahead, and a Michelle Buonora penalty kick conversion early in the second stanza iced a game for Haverford.
The Fords held the edge in shots, 28-5, over the Mighty Macs (2-3-1), and Haverford controlled the corner kick opportunities, 10-0.
Haverford goalkeeper Kayleigh Herrick-Reynolds, made two saves during the game. Immaculata goalie, Jessica Gaburo, registered six saves in the loss.
The Mighty Macs host the Cabrini College Cavaliers on their Colonial States Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 4 p.m.
