CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - Baptist Bible won two doubles matches and then clinched three singles matches as the Defenders nipped the Mighty Macs, 5-4, in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
Bobby DeYoung and
Demetrios Vlahos grabbed three of the Mighty Macs four points of the match. The tandem pulled an ouy 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles over Luke Williams and Thomas Davis, and both won their singles matches. DeYoung again defeated Davis at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, and Vlahos captured the third singles point, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, against Jacob Frantz.
Dave Harlan captured Immaculata's fourth point with a victory at No. 4 singles opposite Matthew DeGroft, 6-3, 7-5.
Immaculata falls to 0-3 overall and begins the conference slate 0-1. Baptist Bible improves to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.
The Mighty Macs host Ursinus on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
