Immaculata Field Hockey Tripped Up By DeSales, 3-0

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Immaculata University field hockey team was defeated by DeSales University, 3-0, in a non-conference game on Thursday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs fall to 3-7 overall, while the Bulldogs improve to 5-7 with the win. 

DeSales' got all three of its goals in the first half, as Jamie Matthews started the scoring with an unassisted tally just 1:02 into the game. Amy Pulcini pushed the Bulldogs' lead to two goals at the 23:31 mark when she scored, and Kelsey Strowhouer got into the scoring act just 4:09 later to provide the final score.

IU goalkeeper Britt Worthington played a full 70 minutes, making four saves while taking the loss. The Bulldogs' keeper Victoria DelToro made one save in the win.

Maureen Town and Kristen Yoder each led the Mighty Macs with two shots apiece. DeSales finished with a 20-7 advantage in shots, and a 12-5 edge in penalty corners. 

Immaculata returns to action and to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Saturday when it travels to Marywood at 1 p.m.
