Cabrini Hands Field Hockey 1-0 Defeat

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- Cabrini scored midway through the first half, and despite its best efforts, Immaculata was unable to score the equalizer, as the host Mighty Macs fell to the visiting Cavaliers, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Cabrini remains unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference play, improving to 3-0 in the league and 4-7 overall. Immaculata falls to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the CSAC.

Lauren Alessi put the Cavaliers ahead 1-0 in the 17th minute, and Cabrini was able to stave off the Mighty Macs the rest of way.

The Immaculata offense posted 13 shots, including seven during a dominating second half for the Mighty Macs. Katherine Becker and Maureen Town each posted four shots to lead the Mighty Macs' offense. Cabrini recorded nine shots, and was held to just two during the second half.

Immaculata goalkeeper Britt Worthington notched three saves in the loss. Cabrini goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue, playing in her first game since the Cavaliers' opener, made nine shutouts to preserve the shutout.

Immaculata takes a break from CSAC action when it travels to Bryn Mawr on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m.
