Immaculata Field Hockey Tops Bryn Mawr, 5-1

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Mighty Macs scored four goals in the second half en route to a 5-1 victory over visiting Bryn Mawr at Draper Walsh Stadium on Saturday.

The win upped Immaculata's win streak on the year to two games, since dropping its season opener at Delaware Valley. The Mighty Macs' offense broke open a 1-1 game at halftime.

Five different Mighty Macs scored in the game as Anastasia Likanchuk, Kathleen Garrity, Kelly Kugler, Meghan Mulvany and Lauren Bigos all registered goals.

Garrity began the onslaught of scoring in the second half, finding the back of the net just 2:12 into the half. Garrity's tally was set up off a penalty corner from Kristen Yoder that was stopped by Maureen Town.

Kugler added Immaculata's third score 54:01 into the contest on an Emily Hallett pass, and Mulvany pushed one pass the Owls' keeper just a minute later. Bigos scored the Mighty Macs' final goal as Alyssa Drescher pushed the ball toward the goal and Bigos knocked it in the goal from mid-air with just 58 seconds remaining in the contest.

Immaculata (2-1) outshot Bryn Mawr (1-3) by a commanding 19-5 total, and held an 8-4 advantage on penalty corners.

Brittany Worthington posted her second straight win, playing the final 45 minutes in the cage and recording two saves. Bridget Dougherty played the first half for the Mighty Macs and allowed one goal. The Owls' Elizabeth Toft went the distance and made nine saves.

Immaculata will take on Haverford on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
