Women's Tennis Wins Home Finale Against Keystone, 6-3

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata women's tennis closed out the home portion of the 2008 slate in winning fashion on Thursday afternoon by defeating Keystone, 6-3.

The Mighty Macs honored their four seniors in grand fashion, as all four claimed a share of the victory. Margaret Kelley and Erika LaMarch were double winners during the match, while Kristen East won her singles match and Felicia Thomas won in doubles.

Immaculata took two of three doubles matches, claiming the top two spots. Kelley and Wilson paired to defeat Shiloh Richner and Kimberly Berger 8-6, while LaMarch and Felicia Thomas were 8-3 winners against Tory Girton and Tracey Kpeyou.

Keystone won the third doubles match as Heather Godino and Kim Piorkowski downed Kaitlyn O'Donnell and Amanda Dahlquist, 8-6. It marked Dahlquist's first appearance of the season.

Kelley also defeated Richner at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 7-6 (10-8), LaMarch downed Girton at third singles, 6-4, 6-2, and Felicia Thomas defeated Kpeyou in the No. 4 spot by scores of 6-3, 6-4 to all earned their second wins of the afternoon.

East rounded out the list of IU winners as she defeated Godino at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-2.

The Giants won second and sixth singles. Berger defeated Wilson, 7-5, 2-6, 10-4, and Piorkowski downed Katherine Boyle, 6-3, 6-3.

Immaculata plays its final match of the 2008 season on Wednesday, Oct. 15, when it travels to Philadelphia Biblical at 3:30 p.m.
