RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini field hockey remained unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference action as it tripped up Immaculata, 6-1, on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The Mighty Macs' Caitlin Brennan scored on a tip-in from Jenn Norris in the 61st minute to close out the game's scoring.
The Cavaliers' offensive was paced by Melissa Benedetti's two goals and one assist, and Maura Gordon also had a goal and one assist for the afternoon.
Stephanie Campanaro put the Cavaliers on the scoreboard in the 14t minute off a feed from Benedetti. Cabrini led 3-0 at the half after goals from Desiree Umosella in the 20th minute and Benedetti had her first of two tallies at the 32:52 mark.
Cabrini extended its advantage to 6-0 by the 59:14 mark on goals from Gordon, Lauren Alessi and Benedetti before the Mighty Macs could strike.
Cabrini held a 24-14 shot advantage, but the teams were even with 10 shots apiece in the second half.
Bridget Dougherty started in net for Immaculata playing the first 32:52, stopping eight shots and allowing three goals. Brittany Worthington played the remainder of the match making five saves and allowing three goals.
Caitlin Donahue logged just over 59 minutes of play for the Cavaliers, making one stop before being replaced by Elissa Salantri. Salantri posted five saves and allowed one goal in almost 11 minutes.
Immaculata takes a break from league action on Thursday, Oct. 9, hosting DeSales at 4 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
