IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata's women's soccer team won its third straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating Neumann College, 5-0, in Colonial States Athletic Conference action at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Immaculata improves its record to 5-7-2 overall and 4-3 in the CSAC, while Neumann dips to 3-12-1 overall and 1-5 in the league.
Immaculata's Melinda Monastra opened the scoring for the Mighty Macs with a goal at 16:44. Courtney Helm scored the second goal of the first half for IU at 36:51, and the Mighty Macs led 2-0 at the break.
Anne Marie Popgoshev continued the scoring for Immaculata shortly into the second period at 50:04. Jen Steinke rounded out the scoring streak, scoring the last two tallies for the Mighty Macs as they shutout Neumann, 5-0.
Immaculata held the advantage in shots, 22-5, and corner kicks, 9-2.
Jessica Gaburo played all 90 minutes in goals and made four saves, including a stop in the second period when she came out of a pile in the box holding the ball. Vicky Segal also had a complete game in the cage for Neumann, recording 11 stops.
The Mighty Macs return to action on Thursday, traveling to Reading, Pa. to face PSU Berks at 3:30 p.m.
