Immaculata University women's field hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision to Delaware Valley College 5-2, in non-conference action on Tuesday, September 25, at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Michelle Cernobyl put the Aggies (7-2) on the board first with a goal at 13:23. Immaculata tied the game at 1-1 when junior Anastasia Likanchuk redirected a shot from fellow junior Jenn Norris at 23:26. Del Val added one more before the end of the first half when Cernobyl registered her second goal (unassisted) of the afternoon.
Bethany Pavlik recorded the eventual game-winner at 37:48 off an assist from Danielle Heyne. The Mighty Macs pulled with one goal (3-2) at 54:45 off an unassisted goal by freshman Lauren Bigos, but Pavlik scored again at 55:50 to push the margin up to two. Heyne added the fifth goal for Del Val at 61:47.
Junior Bridget Doughetry collected 10 saves in the net for Immaculata.
The Mighty Macs (1-7) return to action on Thursday, September 27, when they travel to face Rosemont College. Face-off is set for 4 pm.
