Junior Anastasia Likanchuk recorded a hat trick as Immaculata University shutdown Cedar Crest College 8-0 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, September 21, in Allentown, PA.
It was the first career win for new head coach Stacy Mengel.
Freshman Lauren Bigos scored the game-winner off an assist from junior Alyssa Guarini at 9:27. Guarini added her second assist on freshman Kathleen Garrity's goal at 27:27. Likanchuk scored the next three goals, all unassisted, at 32:13, 34:00 and 36:72, before sophomore Alyssa Drescher tallied a goal at 39:18.
Drescher added an assist on sophomore Caitlin Brennan's goal at 48:18. Junior Jenn Norris registered an un assisted goal at 52:38 to close the scoring for the Mighty Macs.
Junior Bridget Dougherty amassed two saves and recorded the shutout. Rachel Orlen amassed 11 saves for the Falcons (0-7, 0-3 PAC).
Immaculata outshot Cedar Crest 22-2 and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Mighty Macs (1-5, 1-2 PAC) return to action on Saturday, September 22, when they host Neumann College. Face-off is set for 11 am.
