Mighty Macs Take The Bite Out Of The Gators

Freshman Colleen Jennings recorded a hat trick as Immaculata University defeated the College of Notre Dame 6-1, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jennings scored the first of her three goals at 3:34 off an assist from freshman Traci Farrell.  Freshman Eric Lyons pushed the lead to 2-0 - on the eventual game-winner - at 20:19 off a pass from senior Kelli Ortega.  Jennings added one more before halftime at 25:59.  Farrell assisted on that goal as well.

The second half began the same way the first half ended, with a goal by Jennings.  Lyons assisted on the goal at 52:50.  Sarah McCutcheon thwarted the Mighty Macs attempt at a shutout with an unassisted goal at 53:38.  Oretga off an assist from freshman Stefanie Karmondy at 64:37 and junior Leila Wulderk from freshman Alysia Remaley at 83:52 closed the scoring for Immaculata (7-5, 3-4 PAC).

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Gaburo collected five saves in the win.  The Mighty Macs outshot the Gators 29-11 and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Immaculata returns to action on Saturday, October 6, when they travel to face Alvernia College.  Kick-off is set for 1 pm.
