Freshman Colleen Jennings recorded a hat trick as Immaculata University defeated the College of Notre Dame 6-1, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action in Baltimore, Maryland.
Jennings scored the first of her three goals at 3:34 off an assist from freshman Traci Farrell. Freshman Eric Lyons pushed the lead to 2-0 - on the eventual game-winner - at 20:19 off a pass from senior Kelli Ortega. Jennings added one more before halftime at 25:59. Farrell assisted on that goal as well.
The second half began the same way the first half ended, with a goal by Jennings. Lyons assisted on the goal at 52:50. Sarah McCutcheon thwarted the Mighty Macs attempt at a shutout with an unassisted goal at 53:38. Oretga off an assist from freshman Stefanie Karmondy at 64:37 and junior Leila Wulderk from freshman Alysia Remaley at 83:52 closed the scoring for Immaculata (7-5, 3-4 PAC).
Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Gaburo collected five saves in the win. The Mighty Macs outshot the Gators 29-11 and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Immaculata returns to action on Saturday, October 6, when they travel to face Alvernia College. Kick-off is set for 1 pm.
