Mary Kirchner is in her first season as the Mighty Macs' head women's volleyball coach in 2025.

Paul Murphy, Immaculata University Director of Athletics and Recreation announced the hiring of Mary Kirchner as the Head Coach of women's volleyball.

"Mary will do great things with our women's volleyball program," said Murphy. "Her past success at the high school level, her knowledge of the game and connections within the volleyball community will serve her well as she transitions to coaching at the college level. We are excited to welcome Mary into the Immaculata Athletics family and will support her in every way possible."

Kirchner is no stranger to Immaculata having graduated from Immaculata in 1992. While at Immaculata Kirchner played basketball, and tennis for the Mighty Macs.

Kirchner returns to Immaculata after spending the past three years as the Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach at Strath Haven High School. Under Kirchner Strath Haven finished in second place in the Central League each season and was the district 1 Championship runner-up in 2024.

Kirchner served as Head Girls Volleyball Coach for the East Coast Power Volleyball club in King of Prussia from 2021-2023. Kirchner brings over twenty years of scholastic and youth coaching experience to Immaculata.

Kirchner is a USAV Certified official, a PIAA Certified official, is USAV IMPACT trained, and has completed USAV Safe Sport training. Kirchner served as a USAV Official at the National Northeast Qualifier in 2022-23.

Outside of coaching Kirchner is employed as an English as a Second Language Teacher in the Springfield School District, working with students from grades 2-12 since 2019.

"As a graduate of Immaculata, I know first-hand what an Immaculata degree can do for students," said Kirchner. "To be able to play a part in creating an incredible experience on the volleyball court for the next generation of young athletes is an honor. "
