Brittany Whalen
is in her third season as head coach of the Immaculata Mighty Macs women’s basketball program in 2025-26.

In 2025-26, Whalen led the Mighty Macs to their second consecutive Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Championship, defeating Marywood University and earning the program's second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. With the victory, Immaculata capped off an impressive 30-0 undefeated run in Atlantic East Conference play over the past two seasons. Whalen and her staff were named Atlantic East Conference Coaching Staff of the Year for the second consecutive season. Whalen recorded her 50th career win as head coach on Jan. 21, 2026 against Marymount University Saints women's basketball.

In 2024–25, Whalen guided Immaculata to a 22–4 overall record and a perfect 10–0 Atlantic East regular season, finishing 12–0 in conference play after winning the league championship. The Mighty Macs also went 14–0 at home, achieved the program’s first 20-win season since 1976, were ranked in Region V for four consecutive weeks, and earned the second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Whalen and her staff were named Atlantic East Coaching Staff of the Year, and she was also recognized as City of Basketball Love Coach of the Year.

In her first season as head coach in 2023–24, Whalen led the Mighty Macs to a 15–11 record and 7–3 conference mark, earning the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic East Tournament and hosting a conference semifinal.

An Immaculata University graduate ('15), Whalen was a four-year member of the women’s basketball and softball teams. She returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach from 2015–2018, where she worked in player development, scouting, and recruiting.

As a student-athlete, Whalen appeared in 95 games with 56 starts, scoring 660 points and grabbing 575 rebounds. She earned Second Team All-Conference honors in 2014–15 and helped lead Immaculata to back-to-back CSAC Championship game appearances during her final two seasons.

Whalen earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (Pre–Occupational Therapy) from Immaculata in 2015 and an Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant from Harcum College in 2018, where she went on to spend several years working at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital prior to transitioning back to Immaculata.

She currently resides in Wilmington, Del. with her husband, Dan, a former pitcher for the Mighty Macs baseball program.
