Head Coach Will Pilat enters his second season as the Head Coach of the men’s lacrosse team in 2024-25.
In his first season as head coach, Pilat led Immaculata to a 9-7 overall record and a 3-3 record in Atlantic East Conference play. Immaculata hosted a home playoff match for the first time in program history in 2024.
During the 2024 season, Pilat mentored two All-Atlantic East Conference first team members, and four All-Atlantic East Conference second team members. Under Pilat, Attackman David Azzarano set single season program records for assists with 47, and points with 85. The men’s lacrosse team earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Team Academic Award, had the top team GPA for men’s lacrosse in the Atlantic East Conference, and had three members named to the College Sports Communicators All-District Academic At-Large Team in 2024.
Prior joining the staff at Immaculata Pilat spent seven seasons as Assistant Coach and Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Wesleyan University winning an NCAA Division III National Championship in 2018.
As a member of the 2017 and 2018 IMLCA Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year, Pilat worked with the offense and goalies on-field daily. Pilat engineered an offense that averaged over 16 goals per game in 2023, finishing 8th in Division III in points per game, 6th in total assists, and 2nd in assists per game in the 2022 campaign. During his time at Wesleyan there were 24 All-NESCAC selections as well as 30 USILA All-American Selections. Pilat’s efforts with the goaltending unit at Wesleyan include producing two All-Americans, including the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Award winner in 2017. Off the field the Cardinals had 84 All-NESCAC Academic selections during Pilat’s tenure on staff at Wesleyan.
A 2016 graduate of Roanoke College, Pilat was a two-time USILA All-America Honorable Mention attackman during the 2015 and 2016 seasons and team captain his senior season. He was also named a USILA Scholar All-American after his senior season. Pilat finished his career as one of the top 10 scorers in program history while playing under his father, Bill Pilat, who has been the head coach for the Maroons for the past 35 seasons. Pilat also is a camp director for the long running goalie camp his father founded: Bill Pilat’s The Goalie School and has led multiple goalie camps for boys 10-18.
Pilat earned his master’s degree from Wesleyan University in Graduate Liberal Studies.
